I’m so excited about featuring this new company, Chews Happiness™, in my boutique. Creating beautiful fashion inspired by the traditional clothing of Bhutan, each piece is hand-woven by artisans in Bhutan, with happiness vibes from this Himalayan country included (they are the only country who gauges the Gross National Happiness of its people)!
The Karma “Hug,” as their garments are called, features two auspicious Bhutanese symbols, Karma and Dramey.
Dramey, meaning the Eternal Knot, represents a compassionate heart and reflects the belief that one’s actions and the universe are interlinked. Karma, meaning both Star and Action, also symbolizes the interconnection between our actions and the universe.
The Karma Hug is crafted with the hues of five colors (green, blue, red, white, and yellow) corresponding to the five elements (wood, water, fire, iron, and earth). The main color, a hue of yellow, is a color of authority and majesty, reserved for the shoulder cloths of kings and queens. Each hug features a pocket with a hand-woven traditional Bhutanese motif with a unique spiritual message. Who would dispute that our little fur kids aren’t royalty?!
Chews Happiness™ has partnered with a U.S. master weaver, who is crafting Bhutan-inspired, matching Hugs for humans! The Karma matching garment is a shawl. Are you and your pup kings and queens of your castle? Or, maybe the Sunray or Diamond motif speak to you. Discover them and the matching women’s Hugs in the boutique!
